We almost always choose a board game or a card game for our Kickstarters of the Week. That’s the main focus of Board Game Quest so it just makes sense. However, every now and then we come across a different kind of Kickstarter that we feel is worth your attention. This brings us to this week’s Kickstarter of the Week: Casual Game Insider Magazine.
There is a distinct lack of good board game magazines that show up in print. Other than the renowned Spielbox magazine Europeans are lucky enough to get, there aren’t a whole lot of choices for offline reading. I’ve had a chance to check out Casual Game Insider Magazine and really enjoyed it. CGI has a diverse selection of well written articles that will appeal to most gamers. Now they are currently running a kickstarter to help fund the next year of their magazine.

As someone who used to work in the magazine publishing industry, I’m aware of all the costs that can go into producing a high quality magazine, so I’m not surprised to see them reaching out to Kickstarter. They have already hit their funding goal and are now working towards a few stretch goals.
For a $15 pledge level you can get the next year of CGI in digital format or for $25 you can get it in digital and print. You have until Friday, August 9th to become a backer so head over there today if you are interested.
