The publisher of the party game Cards Against Humanity is apparently considering selling the company. According to Bloomberg News, the Chicago-based publisher is working with an adviser, Moelis & Co. to explore a potential sale of the company. The company is reported to be seeking a valuation of $500 million and generates between $40 million to $50 million a year in sales of its game.

Cards Against Humanity rocketed to popularity a decade ago after successfully funding their 2010 Kickstarter. While the game attracted a lot of players and fans, its popularity has definitely waned in recent years. However, it still ranks number 61 in Amazon’s Best Sellers in Toys & Games.

The publisher had a bit of a rough year in 2020, with co-founder Max Temkin leaving the company after allegations that he created a toxic work environment with a racist and sexist culture. The company also sold off its Chicago Board Game Cafe to the chain Snakes & Lattes.

While he will play just about anything (ok, except heavy euros. That's just not his thing). But he loves games that let him completely immerse himself in the theme. He's also known as a bit of a component addict and can be seen blinging out his games. As of Jan 2025, Tony also works for Office Dog and Z-Man Games, so you won't see him reviewing Asmodee games anyone. He still plays plenty of them though!
