BGQ Milestone Giveaway

Milestone Giveaway

A little over three years ago I decided to start a board game review site. To be honest, I expected it to fizzle out after a few months like my other attempts at blogging. But here we are, hundreds of reviews later, still going strong.

Last November, I was pretty excited to look at my website data and realize that we hit 1,000,000 unique page views. For some established websites, that’s not a big deal, but for us we were elated. I remember when the site would get 10 views in a week! It feels like a long time ago but two and a half years later, we crossed the million mark.

2,000,000And we kept going. Recently, we hit 2,000,000 unique page views. It took us 2.5 years to hit the first million, but only around 9 months to hit the second. We are all pretty excited that so many people enjoy our reviews, musings, and other content. Also, that’s unique page views, total page views are much higher.  🙂

So as 2 mil approached, I decide I should have a little fun with this milestone. And of course, when I say fun that means free games for all of you! So I reached out to some game publishers and asked if they wanted to celebrate with us. While I probably shouldn’t have been surprised (because they are all awesome), I was excited when almost everyone said they wanted to contribute.

All in total they’ve donated about 35 games, expansions, and promos to celebrate this milestone. And we are giving them all away to you, our awesome readers. We would be a lot more lonely without you, so thanks for reading our thoughts over the years.

And 2,000,000 thanks to the awesome publishers who donated games for us to give away. Please hit them all up on Twitter or Facebook and let them know how great they are.

If you made it this far, congrats! Thanks for being part of our little celebration! Which game are you most excited about winning? Let us know in the comments below!

  1. I’ve been reading all of your reviews, and I really love you guys! You are articulate, nice, and you have been the cause of so many games being added! Kahuna and Neuroshima Hex are the two most recent games I’ve gotten, and I just want to thank you for introducing more games! Be sure to check out the Pack-o-Game line next!

    Thanks for the cool contest!

  2. Congrats! I always head over to your website weekly to check out any new board game reviews. I have purchased many games because of your reviews. Battle of the five armies looks awesome but I would be happy with any game.

  3. Congrats on 2M! Big thanks to this great list of game companies for supporting you in this way. Keep up the good work.
